Last week we had a lesson dedicated to camera skills which we had not had for a while so it was good to re-cap on some stuff we may have forgotten and even learnt some new skills. The lesson began with the techer showing us examples of shots which are not acceptable, and we had to point out what was wrong with them, whether it was poorley framed shots or problems with back lighting.
We were then shown how to use the different light settings to benefit our shots in any way possible, i also learnt that you can make a shot look like it is night time even when you have filmed during the day in light just by changing some settings.
Another feature i learnt to use was manual focusing, which can focus on a particular item near to the camera and slightly blur everything else in the background or vice versa. I believe this will help in our production as we have shots which include the posters on lamp posts and in shop windows which we can focus to help our production.
